Never mind hats off, it's hats on to this year's Manchester Day as the countdown continues.

Thousands of people will be packing Manchester City Centre on Sunday 23rd June for the huge, free celebration of Manchester, for the people, by its people, which this year celebrates the theme: 10 out of 10.

With the event less than two weeks away, “Creation Stations” around the city are opening workshops where people will have the chance to make their own party hat, to be worn during the city-centre Manchester Day celebrations, and take part in a people’s procession leading up to a finale in Cathedral Gardens.

The free workshops will provide a host of environmentally friendly hat-making materials and offer artistic and practical support throughout the creative process - allowing attendees the opportunity to design the perfect accouterment to cap off their preparations for the big day.

The FREE workshops are for all ages with sessions across the city:

Parading experts will be on hand - from noon until 5pm - to show attendees how best to flaunt their fabulous creations.

Then, at 5pm, everyone is invited to join the ‘People’s Procession’ - a promenade through the streets to reach the Manchester Day finale in Cathedral Gardens.
