Harry Potter and the Cursed Child launch party planned for Deansgate

Fans of Harry Potter in Manchester will gather this Saturday to celebrate the launch of the latest instalment in J.K. Rowling's series.
Waterstones bookshop in Deansgate is holding a Harry Potter launch party to celebrate the midnight publication of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I and II.
The book is the eighth instalment in the series and is a script-book of the play of the same name, which premiers on the same day at the Palace Theatre in London.
Co-written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, the play is set nineteen years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry now works in the Ministry of Magic and has three children to Ginny Weasley.
According to staff at the bookshop, customers have pre-ordered over 1000 copies of the book.
Fans will attend Waterstones at 8pm before beginning the countdown to the midnight release with a screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, wizard-themed puzzles, quizzes and a magician.
Charlie Davies, Events Manager at Waterstones Deansgate, says that the store expects to see upwards of 500 fans at the launch.
"The response from our customers to this release has been incredible, and it has generated such a buzz around the publishing world that we are happily anticipating a huge number of people joining our queue on Saturday 30th.
"Potter fans will want to make sure that they are amongst the first to get their hands on a copy of the book at midnight and we are really looking forward to sharing this experience with them."
