Manchester Christmas Parade arrives in city centre
With December 25 rapidly approaching, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Manchester

Manchester's first ever Christmas Parade arrived in town earlier today, and went down a storm with the public.
Thousands gathered by Deansgate at the junction with Blackfriars Street to witness Father Christmas' arrival. The big man stood atop a giant float, while the popular track 'Santa Claus is coming to Town' played in the background.
Clearly enjoying the moment, the popular figure rang his bell, while his adoring crowd cheered. But St Nick didn't turn up on his own. He was quickly joined by his good pal, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. And to the delight of those in attendance, the Christmas mainstay took some time off preparing to guide the slay on Christmas Eve, to say hello to the people of Manchester.
Spectators were spell-bound by an array of fabulous street performers, magical stilt walkers, elves and a band that played a plethora of holiday classics.
Following the enormously popular event, we spoke to members of the public to get their thoughts.
One person said: "It's lovely to see so many people out and about. Despite the cold weather, everyone is in good spirits."
While another commented: "My daughter loved the reindeer. We've had a truly lovely day, a fantastic outing."
The festivities provided fun for all the family, with one youngster telling us, that his favourite part was: "All of it."
