It's exactly a month until the World Taekwondo Championships come to the UK - for the very first time.

The major competition is being held at Manchester Arena from May 15th - 19th.

Team GB have announced a 15-strong squad of athletes, including Olympic medallists Jade Jones, Bianca Walkdenand Lutalo Muhammad.

Muhammad captured the nation's hearts at Rio 2016 when he was beaten to a Gold medal - losing out in the last second before breaking down live on TV.

He said:

"I'm very excited to compete in my second home and bring home some gold. It's the first time it's been in the UK so to compete against some of the world champions of the past is great opportunity and I can't wait for it.

"For whatever reason, the World Championship medal is the only one that's eluded me. It's a major honour to compere in front of a home crowd and I think it gives you a bit of a boost.

"Obviously, losing something that you work your whole life for - to lose out in the last second was really difficult for me. I see this chance to compete in front of a home crowd as a chance to spread a bit of joy."

Liverpool's Bianca Walkden is aiming for her third world title in a row, while double Olympic gold medallist Jade Jones hopes to claim her first after a previous silver and bronze medal.

Tickets are available now.
