Fire rips through Bolton warehouse

Residents evacuated

Firefighters are tackling a large commercial fire at Parrot Street in Bolton.

Around 60 firefighters were called at 05.01am on Friday 24th February 2017 where on arrival they were faced by a large fire engulfing a commercial building.

A number of local residents close to the fire have been evacuated as a precaution.

Other are being are advised to close their doors and windows.

Station Manager Paul Duggan said: “We have three aerial appliances fighting the fire from above and firefighters are tackling the fire on the ground. A number of residents in the area have been evacuated, with assistance from Greater Manchester Police and Bolton Council. The council are assisting to find temporary accommodation.

Traffic in the area will be affected.
