Figures across Greater Manchester send well wishes to the Queen

Her Majesty is under medical supervision at Balmoral

Leaders from across Greater Manchester have sent their well wishes to the Queen who is under medical observation at Balmoral.

This afternoon Buckingham Palace released a statement saying:

"Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Throughout the afternoon figures from the region have been sending their regards to Her Majesty.

Manchester City Council leader Bev Craig tweeted saying "Like the rest of the country my thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.

Across the city people will be willing the Queen well and hoping for a speedy recovery."

The Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester also sent her regards saying her "thoughts and wishes are with Her Majesty the Queen and all the members of the Royal Family at this time."

Greater Manchester's MPs have also been sending their wishes to Queen Elizabeth.

MP for the Hazel Grove, William Wragg said: My thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty the Queen. May God bless and comfort her."

Bury North and South MPs James Daley and Christian Wakeford have also sent their thoughts.

Mr Wakeford tweeted:

"The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace today.

My thoughts - and the thoughts of those up and down the country will be with her and her family at this time."

James Daley said: "My thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time."
