Extra police set to patrol England's World Cup quarter final clash with Sweden
Officers say they want people to get behind the team 'responsibly'
There's just a day to go before England take on Sweden in the quarter finals of the World Cup and most people have probably made plans to watch it somewhere.
But people heading into bars and pubs across Greater Manchester are being told they will see extra police out on patrol.
Greater Manchester Police have said they want to make sure people enjoy the game and stay safe.
Chief Superintendent Graeme Openshaw, who is in charge of policing during the World Cup, said: “I’m happy to say that we have had no serious incidents of disorder linked to the World Cup so far.
“This is a testament to the good-natured behaviour of fans.
“We encourage all fans to get behind their team responsibly.
“We advise the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour or activity. We are not out to spoil your fun, but we will not tolerate criminal behaviour.”
