Drivers Play Ketchup!
Drivers spent Thursday morning playing 'catch-up' due a spillage of 22-tonnes of ketchup on the East Lancs.
The westbound carriageway was closed throughout the breakfast period while the contents of the lorry was cleared up.
Commuters were diverted off the A580 near Astley and faced long delays as emergency workers righted the lorry and cleaned the road.
Greater Manchester Police took to Twitter to post a picture of the incident after they were called to the scene at 12.07am to assist but the driver had got out of the lorry safely.
The spillage caused several bottlenecks in the area!
