Detectives investigating the murder of Paul Massey are stepping up their appeal for information on the second anniversary of his death.

Detectives investigating the murder of Paul Massey are stepping up their appeal for information on the second anniversary of his death.

The 55-year-old, dubbed Salford's Mr Big' was shot five times on his doorstep in Clifton.

It's believed to have been part of an feud between organised crime groups in the city.

The offender's been described as white and of slim build. He was wearing a hat, a face covering, a green or khaki long-sleeved top and combat style trousers tucked into black, lace-up boots. He was carrying a black gun described as a sub machine gun style weapon.

Witnesses describe seeing him coming from the direction of the Community Centre and leaving via an alley, between the car park and St Anne’s, which leads to a country park.

Police are also appealing for information about a man who was seen sat in a white Renault Kangoo van in Clifton Country Park at seven o clock on Friday 24th of July.

Detective Superintendent Howard Millington, the Senior Investigating Officer, said:

“On the second anniversary of Paul Massey’s murder we are renewing our appeal for information and offering a £50,000 reward.

“We want to bring the offender to justice and we need your help. Salford is a close-knit community and I want to reiterate that if you come forward you will have our full support.
