A plan to reduce the speed limit on one of Manchester's busiest roads will be considered by the council today.

More than 1,000 people have signed a petition calling for Princess Parkway to be turned in to a 30 miles per hour zone.

It was set up by campaigners after it was revealed there have been 84 crashes in three years and two people have died.

If the plan is given the go ahead, the speed limit will be reduced for 18months intially and then it will be reviewed.
