A child's been injured in a hit and run outside a primary school in Didsbury.

A child's been injured in a hit and run outside Cavendish Primary School in Didsbury.

It happened on Cavendish Road at 8:45 this morning (Tuesday 1st November 2016).

The girl - who's believed to be under 10 - was taken to hospital - she's said to have minor injuries.

An investigation is underway.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone else with information to contact them.

Janet Marland, Headteacher, Cavendish Primary School, said: "Our thoughts and best wishes are with the little girl and her family, and we're relieved that she wasn't more seriously hurt. "I'd also like to say thank you to the emergency services for their very quick response following the incident. "The matter is now in the hands of the police."
