Burnt headless murder victim had Salford links
Police say a man who's dismembered and burnt body was found in Derbyshire was from Salford.
A 42-year-old man from Manchester has appeared in court charged with murder in connection with the discovery of a badly burned headless body in a lay-by.
Ming Jiang, of Falconwood Way in the Beswick area of Manchester, is accused of murdering Yang Liu, from Salford Quays between October 5 and 10 in the city.
Mr Liu's remains were discovered in a parking area off the A628 to the east of Tintwistle, Derbyshire, police said. Police issued an image of a suitcase which they believe was used to transfer the corpse. The victim's missing body parts have not been located so far.
During a brief appearance at Chesterfield Justice Centre, Jiang spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
He was remanded in custody.
