Black Friday shoppers take it easy
Bargain hunters avoid last year's chaotic scenes.
Bleary-eyed Black Friday bargain hunters braved the cold at the Tesco Extra store in Irlam, which last year saw scenes of chaos as shoppers
grappled with each other for electrical items at bargain prices.
This year saw a more civilised situation as shoppers were treated to teas, coffees and donuts by staff with added security also on hand to deal with any potential trouble.
One shopper praised staff for making it a more enjoyable experience and noted that moving the opening time to 5am rather than midnight may have helped prevent similar scenes to last year.
In Irlam around two dozen shoppers were waiting to enter when the doors opened while the store in Stretford saw similar numbers.
Asda had earlier announced they wouldn’t be taking part in Black Friday- other than online.
