Police were called to Ellesmere Shopping Centre in Walkden in the early hours of yesterday morning. (Thursday 7th September)
Attackers pushed their way into the bank by following an employee as he entered.
Three masked men were armed with a handgun and machete, threatening two members of staff.
Police Sergeant Natasha Evans of GMP’s Salford Borough said: “This was a horrifying attack, which has left employees extremely shaken.
“Thankfully no-one was injured, but that doesn’t excuse the terrifying ordeal that the victims had to endure at the hands of these violent men.
“I would urge anyone that was in the area at the time of the robbery that thinks they might have seen anything that could help our investigation to please get in touch.”
One offender has been described as around 5ft8 inches tall and of a stocky build, wearing black jogging bottoms and a hooded coat.
Both other offenders were wearing black jogging bottoms, one with light coloured top and the other wearing a grey hooded top, with the hood up.
All three men were wearing balaclavas.
