Three men arrested in dramatic 'ambush' by police

Armed police have shot out the back window of a car in Irlam in a planned swoop on suspected robbers. Officers carrying firearms were wearing masks to conceal their identity surrounded a Vauxhall Corsa on Liverpool Road near the White Lion pub at 10am (Friday 14th October) and arrested the occupants of the vehicle.

Three men aged 30, 34 and 44 were taken into custody at the scene. In a statement GMP say; "Officers performed a tactical stop of a Vauxhall Corsa on Liverpool Road, Salford.

Three men aged 30, 34 and 44 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of conspiracy to rob.
