Armed police blast a car in Blackley
Officers fired shots at a vehicle as part of a drugs investigation.
For the second time in a week armed police have blasted a car and arrested the occupants in Manchester.
The operation, which GMP describe as a 'tactical stop' happened on Riverdale Road in Blackley at around 1.30pm (Wednesday 19th October) Officers concealing their identities fired their weapons at the Volkswagan Passat to burst the tyres and disable the vehicle.
Three men were arrested on suspicion of assault and drugs offences.
The force issued the folliwing statement:
Shortly after 1pm on Wednesday 19 October 2016 armed GMP officers performed a tactical stop of a Volkswagen Passat on Riverdale Road in Blackley.
Three men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of drugs, assault and kidnap offences. They remain in police custody for questioning.
There were no injuries sustained during the tactical stop
It followed a similar armed swoop in Cadishead days earlier when officers stopped aVauxhall Corsa by blasting the rear window of the vehicle.
