Wigan Warriors have suspended prop forward Tony Clubb while an investigation is carried out into alleged racism.

Hull second rower Andre Savelio made the allegation during his side's Super League match against the Warriors on Thursday night.

Wigan executive director Kris Radlinski said: "There is no room for racism in sport in any form and we take the accusations made by Hull's Andre Savelio very seriously.

"Our immediate intention is to work closely with Hull and the governing body to gather all the facts and support the investigation process that is in place.

"In the short term, Tony Clubb will be suspended from all club activities."

Wigan led 10-8 at the break, but the major talking point was the decision by referee James Child to put an incident of alleged racism on report after Hull second-row forward Andre Savelio accused Wigan's Tony Clubb.

The incident comes ahead of a weekend when most clubs are set to join a social media blackout to help combat racist abuse.
