73 year-old Rochdale woman attacked outside her home
Man assaulted pensioner after she questioned why he was urinating on her wall.
Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was assaulted in Rochdale. Sometime between 8.15pm and 8.25pm on Saturday 10th September 2016 the 73-year-old returned from walking her dog to find a man urinating against her home on Roylelands, Castleton. When the woman asked what he was doing, the man grabbed her arm, threw her to the ground and punched her in the face before fleeing the scene. The woman suffered bruising around her eyes, nose and mouth as well as cuts and swelling to her face and right arm. The man is described as white, in his early 30’s, 5ft 10in, of slim build with short dark hair, clean shaven and wearing a blue t-shirt and dark jeans. An investigation has been launched and enquiries to trace the man are ongoing. PC Michelle Farmer, of GMP’s Rochdale borough, said: “This was a sickening and unprovoked attack on an elderly woman that has left her shaken and anxious about going out. It is fortunate that she was not seriously injured. “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have seen anything that can help find this man, to come forward.” Anyone with information should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
