5 charged after care home death

5 women have been charged by Bolton police investigating allegations of neglect where a man died in a care home.

Police have charged five women with perverting the course of justice after an elderly man died at a care home in Bolton earlier this year.

The women were arrested after police launched an investigation into allegations of neglect at Lever Edge Care Home, in Great Lever, where an 86-year-old man, who has not been named, died on January 9, 2016.

Michelle Hayes, 48 of Woodvale Avenue, Bolton, Deborah Amanda Scrivens, 43, of Hurstwood, Bolton, Danielle Menzies, 22, of Glenbrook Gardens, Farnworth, Michelle Gilman, 44, of Moorby Walk, Bolton and Lynda Johnson, 63, of Calf Hey Close, Radcliffe, have all been charged with perverting the course of justice.

They have all been granted bail and will next appear at Bolton Magistrates Court on April 21, 2016.
