There's 250 events taking place across the city centre over the next week - including the Irish markets which have opened up in Albert Square.

Many children will wear costumes they've made themselves.

Councillor Pat Karney's the president of the Irish Festival:

“It’s fantastic, there’s at least 20 tractors in and it’s just mad.

“It’s very focussed on children on families, I’m on the mic and we get people up to sing and it’s completely bonkers.

“The Irish just love parties, you’ll love it!”

It’s sey to start at the Irish World Heritage Centre at 12 noon and arrives in Albert Square at 1p
