London men charged with importing cocaine in bananas

Three men from London have been charged after ten million pounds worth of cocaine was been found in two shipments of bananas.

The discovery was made at Portsmouth International Port on January 20th and 26th.

The bananas were shipped from the Dominican Republic

They were found by Border Force officials hidden in the cardboard packaging of boxes shipped from the Dominican Republic.

37 year old Jose Manuel Perez De La Cruz – of Thomson House in Beckway, 34 year old Ronny Sierra Guerrero of no fixed address and 30 year old Nathanael Colado-Jiminez of Western Avenue in Acton will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 31 January.

Ten million pounds worth of the drug was found in two shipments of bananas.

Met Specialist Crime officers worked around the clock to gather further evidence and their investigations led them to an address in Acton. They carried out a warrant and arrested the occupants who were charged as above.
