Merseyside Police have issued a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus in Wirral.

The woman was on the Arriva 437 service travelling in the direction of Birkenhead at around 12.10pm on Friday 26 April. The bus stopped at Claughton Village, opposite Birkenhead 6th Form College, when two males got on and sat next to her.

The males spoke to the victim before one of them sexually assaulted her.

Other passengers on the bus intervened and notified the driver who stopped the bus and asked them to get off. They got off near Birkenhead Park station.

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man we would like to trace as we believe he could assist with our investigation.

Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson said: “This was clearly a very distressing incident for the woman involved.

“We would like to speak to the man pictured as we believe he could help with our enquiries and I would urge anyone who recognises him gets in touch.” First for all the latest news from across the UK every hour on Hits Radio on DAB, at hitsradio.co.uk and on the Hits Radio app.
