New Everton stadium to see football for first time
Bramley Moore stadium will host a test event between Everton u18s and Wigan u18s
History will be made tonight (17 February) as a match is played at Everton's new stadium for the first time.
It's a test event in front of 10,000 spectators at Bramley Moore - with an Everton under-18 side taking on Wigan Athletic.
Everton fan Les from The Blue Room Podcast said:
"I can't wait to be among the first to see inside the new ground.
"I think the derby was the first time I've really feel that sense of loss about leaving Goodison - we'll never see scenes like that again and it's going to take time to settle into new surroundings, but having watched the ground go up over the last few years and then seeing the finishing touches applied recently, it just looks like it's going to be stunning.
"It's impossible not to be excited about it!"
Everton fan James from The Toffee Blues said:
"I'm relishing in being in that clutch of people who get to go to the ground for the first time as a sporting venue and I think that's going to be really exciting and hopefully a great story to tell family, friends and kids and grand-kids down the line.
"A little bit nervous as well to see how everything plays out and I just hope that it lives up to expectation because it's following a very hard act in Goodison."
A second test event will take place in March or April with the under-21 side - in front of a larger crowd of 25,000.
A third will also be held before the formal move in for the 2025/26 season.
