Police have made a seventh arrest following the death of a man in Lincoln which is being treated as murder.

It's believed he was assaulted on Friday afternoon.

Officers believe the 46-year-old was assaulted in or around Frank Swaby Court just off Newark Road between 12pm and 4pm on the 14th June.

They were alerted by the hospital who told them the man had suffered serious injuries to his head and body.

He died around 5pm yesterday 16th June.

Seven people have been arrested in total

The man's family are being supported by specially trained officers.

On Friday Police arrested three men in their 30's and a 28-year-old woman.

Yesterday another man and woman were also arrested.

All of them remain in police custody.

Police have been carrying out enquiries in the city centre including around Frank Swaby Court.

Meanwhile a seventh person has now been arrested. A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt is leading the Investigation:

“We know how concerning and frightening it will be for people to hear about this investigation and we are making it a priority to find out what happened."

"We really need all the help we can get from the public, and we’re asking you to come forward with anything at all you think might help."

"We would rather you come to us with information you are unsure of than risk not mentioning it, no matter how small you think it might be."

"The smallest piece of information can make a big difference in an investigation, as we’d rather have information and not need it, than miss a key detail.”
