Murder investigation launched following death of a man in Lincoln

Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man in Lincoln.

It follows the discovery of a body on Tuesday.

Officers are called to Portland Street just before midday .

There they found that 69-year-old John Connolly had died.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The force say the investigation is in its early stages but they're conducting a number of inquiries to try and establish the exact circumstances.

A scene guard remains in place.
