As the pressure on Lincolnshire health services increases bosses are bringing in measures to try and manage demand.

There'll be a Senior Community Nurse within the ambulance control room.

That will allow patients to get the most appropriate resources and in some cases quicker than having to use an ambulance .

We've been speaking to winter director for health services in the county Rebecca Neno.

She told us: "It is something new and different and doesn't need movement of data around patients that has it's own risks but also takes time."

Not only is that the right response it's also a much quicker response for those individuals

"Of course what it doesn't need is additional investment - it's just the way we work."

"That's about our productivity in the NHS - it's live - it's quick and it's what our patients need."

"Over the past few days alone they have intercepted a number of calls where alternatively we would have deployed an ambulance and of course they would have been lower category calls so that would mean a longer wait for those individuals."

We can see every patient that's coming through and we can deploy the most appropriate resource

"Not only is that the right response it's also a much quicker response for those individuals."

"It's not always an ambulance which is the best response - through that we can deploy many of our community services whether that be our rapid response services - our community nursing services - our virtual ward."

"There's a range of services available."

"We've now got one of our community nurses located within the ambulance control room."

"We can see every patient that's coming through and we can deploy the most appropriate resource because often people will dial 999 because they either don't know what to do or they're frustrated."
