Man dies after arrest in Lincoln

A man, aged in his 30s, has died this morning after becoming unresponsive in the Lincoln Custody Suite at South Park Police Station.

The man was taken to hospital where he subsequently died at 8.40am.

Lincolnshire Police says his family are aware.

The man had been arrested in the early hours of the morning.

Police say they have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) who will independently investigate the circumstances.
