Lincolnshire and Newark charity says many parents struggle to feed their children during summer holidays
Half of children in parts of the region are going hungry during the six week break
A charity that distributes food across Lincolnshire and Newark says many parents are finding it really tough to feed their children over the summer holidays.
Figures from Fareshare Midlands show around half of youngsters in parts of the region would be going hungry without support from charities.
They take surplus food and re-distribute it to organisations which help people who are struggling to get good quality food on the table.
We spoke to Laura Spencer from Fareshare.
She told us costs can really pile up : "Things like childcare - activities to entertain children through the holidays."
