We're hearing that there's a 'constant' demand for services from a baby bank in Horncastle as a report reveals over 12 and a half thousand children in the East Midlands were supported by charity organisations last year,

The research comes from the Baby Bank Alliance who are calling on the Government to scrap the two-child benefit cap.

We spoke to founder Sue Bain founder of Little Treasures baby bank in Horncastle .

She told us: "The numbers are quite mind boggling - not only how many children are in poverty currently but also how many are being helped by baby banks."

It seems the stigma has gone away a little bit

"It's proves we're so desperately needed."

"It seems the stigma has gone away a little bit."

"The type of items that are in demand are the larger ones."

"Things like prams, cots, bouncy chairs - which I suppose is natural given the cost of everything at the minute. "

"Our area has increased - we now find out we're getting referrals from new social services - children's centres - throughout the county."

"Due to the size and the rural nature it seems quite difficult to spread the baby bank."

"Demand is quite steady but it is constant."

"We're getting quite a few referrals from units that are being set up within schools to help rather than coming through health visitors and social workers."
