Police are appealing for information following a disturbance in St Helens yesterday afternoon, Monday 10 June.

At around 3pm, it was reported that three males and two females were involved in a fight on Peter Street and that weapons were used, including a wooden stick.

Emergency services attended the scene and a man aged in his 30s was taken to hospital with facial injuries. He has since been discharged.

Officers found the weapon used during the attack outside an address on Burnell Close.

Detective Inspector Steve Byrom said: “This was a shocking incident that happened in front of passers-by, including children, who may have witnessed the disturbance.

“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident or recorded footage, please let us know.

“Similarly, if you live in the area or were driving past, please check your CCTV or dashcam footage in case you captured anything significant.” First for all the latest news from across the UK every hour on Hits Radio on DAB, at hitsradio.co.uk and on the Rayo app.
