Lancashire Police launch appeal for footage in fatal Rossendale collision

Police in Lancashire are launching an appeal for information and witnesses after the driver of a car died after being involved in a crash in Rossendale.
Officers first received reports of a crash on the Burnley Road in the town at around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning (May 19th).
When responders from the emergency services arrived on the scene, they found a Renault Megane car had collided with a Ford Kuga.
After initially crashing into the Kuga, the Megane would later crash into three other parked cars in the vicinity.
Sadly , the driver of the Megane - who was determined to be a man in his 20s - was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of the paramedics onsite.
Two passengers who were in the Megane at the time of the collision were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.
Speaking on the incident, Sergeant Daniel Gunn from the Roads Policing Unit of Lancashire Police paid tribute to the driver of the car and his family, who are being supported by specialist officers.
"We are appealing for anyone with properties on Burnley Road East between Waterfoot and the scene of the collision, who have CCTV or ring door bell footage, to contact police," Gunn added.
“Also, if anyone was travelling in the area and has dashcam footage from around the time of the collision, we again ask them to get in touch."
Burnley Road had been closed for a number of hours whilst investigators carried out their initial enquiries, but has now been reopened.
