Wyre Forest & South Worcestershire Nightstop are looking for host families to help young people in need.
The Nightstop and Mediation Service helps vulnerable young people by providing emergency accommodation, homeless prevention, family mediation, life skills training and schools education.
On Monday, Nightstop launched a new campaign called 'Just For One Night' which is calling for more people to help provide a warm bed for the night for young people who find themselves in need across the county as youth homelessness continues to rise.
The charity believes that no one should have to face the fear and uncertainty of homelessness, especially in their most formative years, and say they are dedicated to preventing youth homelessness across the districts of Wyre Forest, Wychavon, Worcester City and Malvern Hills in South Worcestershire.
“Last year, nearly half of our young people had mental health challenges," CEO of the Wyre Forest & South Worcestershire Nightstop said.
"We believe every young person has the right to a home and future and we will continue to strive to make this happen.
“Our young homeless are often not those you might naturally think of, it is often young people who have come away from unsafe home situations, so have been sofa surfing for some time without any clear direction, and when crisis strikes, they have nowhere to go.
"They become very vulnerable without a place of safety which is very concerning, and why our Nightstop service is so important.”
This year alone, Wyre Forest Nightstop has provided 239 nights of accommodation, 410 mediation sessions, and 177 crisis support sessions.
