South Warwickshire and Worcestershire charity urges people to focus on mental health this winter
It's ahead of World mental health day
A charity in the West Midlands is reminding people to prioritise their mental health through the winter months.
Mind South Warwickshire and Worcestershire say factors such as the darker nights and colder weather arriving can have an impact on people's well-being.
Head of services Jonathan Cawdron says it's important people talk, and don't feel on their own.
"With the winter months, there is a natural shift in how people feel," he said
"As the weather changes, as we move into the dark nights, it's a fairly typical time of the year where people do start to struggle.
"Loneliness and social isolation can be a really difficult thing to have to cope with, particularly as we enter winter.
"Keeping it to yourself and worrying about it is not the answer, talk to friends, talk to family, because it's so important that people talk and experience social interactions."
World mental health day takes place on 10 October, with this year's theme focused on mental health in the workplace.
