End of life comfort boxes have been launched in wards across community hospitals in Worcestershire. The specially designed boxes are filled with items to provide extra comfort and support for patients and their loved ones during end-of-life care.
The boxes contain a variety of items like handmade blankets and cozy socks - made by volunteers from Crafting for Communities in Stourbridge. There's also a hand-crafted property bag and a candle for loves one to take home.
Katy Power, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Community Palliative Care Triage and EoL Education Facilitator said: “I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers involved from Crafting for Communities. Without them, this project wouldn't be possible. We hope these items will provide an extra level of comfort and support to patients and their loved ones."
