A woman from Bromsgrove says she just wants her brother's death to be recognised ahead of the infected blood inquiry report due to be published today.

Janine Jones' brother Marc Payton died in 2003 aged 41 , after being infected with both hepatitis C and HIV at a specialist boarding school for haemophiliacs.

She says it's been difficult hearing and listening to other people's stories over the years, but doesn't want any compensation.

"All I want out of this at the end of the day is recognition for my brother," Janine said.

"Personally, I don't want any compensation, because nothing will change the fact that I watched my brother die, and so did my parents.

"Finding out some of the information has been horrifically hard, and it's only through the inquiry we've heard that, and I'm just grateful that he or my parents aren't around to have listened to it."

The inquiry has estimated thousands of people were infected through infected blood between the 1970s and 1990s.

Janine says it was hard for both her, and her family, watching what her brother went through.

"The last six years have been pretty tough with the inquiry ongoing, and it's really taken its toll," she said.

"It was hard enough him being told he had HIV at the age of 23, he was just newly engaged and about to be married, he wanted to have children, and he couldn't do any of it.

"All my life that's all I knew was having a haemophiliac brother, he was four years older than me, so I knew I always had to take care of him.

"I promised him on his deathbed I would continue campaigning for him, and I have done, if anything it's probably kept me going."

The final report is due to be published at 12.30 today.
