With just under two months to go until Love Island hits ITV2 and consumes our entire Summer, we're obviously wondering who is heading into the villa for some drama in Mallorca.

We've seen some absolute classics in the past, from Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay's bromance to Muggy MIke, but it sounds like show bosses have a certain type of contestant they don't want for the 2018 series.

Yes, reality TV rejects are apparently BANNED from the show.

Casting agents have had over 100,000 applicants for this Summer's series, but rumour has it anyone who's already appeared on shows such as Ex on the Beach and First Dates have been snubbed in favour of a 'strictly-new-faces-only' rule.

According to reports, producers are keen to find people who are 'looking for love' instead of people who are just interested in the fame the show brings them.

As the new series is fast approaching, auditions are about to take place!

However, a spokesperson for ITV said, "Anyone is welcome to apply - the only stipulation is that applicants are over 18 and single."

The news comes after Love Island host Caroline Flack teased fans ahead of the new series. Sharing a photo of herself on Instagram, Caroline revealed she was about to film promo for the show.

She wrote, 'Exciting PROMO WEEK ahead . How has it been a year???? Where does time go??? 🤔💁🏼‍♀️😬'. sic

Exciting!

The new series of Love Island is expected to air on ITV2 in June.

Now check out the best throwback photos from the Love Island cast:

Marcel Somerville

In completely brand new information - Marcel was in the 90's band Blazin Squad. WE KNOW RIGHT. He's so modest about that sort of thing.
