Love Island set to bring back 'old contestants' for new 2018 series
This would shake things up!
Last updated 19th Jul 2018
After three mega successful series and a BAFTA TV Award, it looks like the 2018 series of Love Island is set to be bigger and better than ever! The popular reality show, which is set to return to ITV2 in June, reportedly has a massive 45 people lined up for the show, including some old faces.
According to new reports, bosses at Love Island will draft in stars from series one, two and three to go on 'double dates' with this year's Islanders.
After the 2017 series was the most watched and talked about in a long time, bosses are very keen to go one step further this year, meaning they are prepared to up the drama in the famous villa.
Speaking to the press, a TV insider revealed that not only do bosses have a massive 45 stars lined up already, there has been some talk of bringing back some of the more famous stars from the past three series.
Now that would be AMAZING! 🙈
However, despite recently admitting to cheating on his girlfriend Gabby Allen whilst the pair were on holiday together, it looks like Marcel Somerville isn't keen on the idea of returning to the villa.
Speaking to OK! Online on the red carpet at the BAFTA TV Awards last night, Marcel said, "No. I think I’ve done my time. Once you’ve done it once, you wouldn’t want to do it again.”
Now see what the rest of the Love Island 2017 cast are up to now:
Kem Cetinay
Kem won the 2017 series of Love Island with Amber Davies, but after a six-month romance outside of the villa, the pair split.
Despite his love life not working out, winning Love Island acted as a major platform for Kem. Not only did he get his own TV show alongside Chris Hughes, the pair also released a single called 'Little Bit Leave It', gaining them a record deal.
As well as appearing in a number of promotions, Kem also took part in the 2018 series of Dancing On Ice, making it all the way to the semi-final. He has since just completed the Dancing On Ice tour around the UK.
Jamie Jewitt
Nobody has a bad word to say about Jamie Jewitt after he mended Camilla's broken heart on Love Island 2017.
After being a complete gentleman on the show, Jamie has proven to be the same away from the cameras and has joined Camilla on a number of charity missions across the world.
The reality star has also continued with his modelling and has bravely spoken out about the effects social media can have on mental health.

Amber Davies
Despite bagging herself a share of £50,000 with Kem Cetinay when they were crowned the winners of Love Island in 2017, after just 132 days the romance was over.
Before the split, Amber landed herself a role alongside Kem as showbiz reporters on Good Morning Britain whilst Richard Arnold was away on holiday.
Despite her split with Kem, Amber is still hugely popular with Love Island fans and often attends high profile appearances for large sums of money. The reality star has reportedly landed herself a £500,000 contract with fashion brand MotelRocks.
Amber is still great mates with fellow Love Island star Olivia Attwood, with the pair often spotted out partying together. At the end of April, Amber confirmed she is now dating James Hawkins.
Chris Hughes
The nation fell in love with him on Love Island 2017, but despite being pipped to victory by his best mate Kem Cetinay, Chris Hughes has achieved amazing success since the show ended.
After releasing 'Little Bit Leave It' with Kem and featuring on their own TV show, Chris later landed himself another spin-off show with his Love Island girlfriend Olivia Attwood.
Documenting their relationship struggles on Chris and Olivia: Crackin' On, the pair announced their split in March. Chris has since been linked to a number of other women, including former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote and Made In Chelsea's Emily Blackwell.
Away from his love life, Chris has landed himself a number of promotional deals, including work with Topman and charity CALM to raise awareness for men's mental health.
Olivia Attwood
Despite a shaky start with viewers on Love Island 2017, fans grew to like Olivia Attwood and her on/off/on/off relationship with Chris Hughes.
However, after leaving the villa and splitting up with Chris for good in March, fans turned on Olivia when she got back with her ex-boyfriend Bradley Dack, following the end of her TV show with Chris.
Despite the split, Olivia has remained popular on social media and followed in the footsteps of both Charlotte Crosby and Binky Felstead by releasing a clothing line for In The Style.
Sam Gowland
After entering the villa in 2017, Middlesbrough boy Sam Gowland never really got the opportunity to shine.
After leaving the villa as 'friends' with former TOWIE star Georgia Harrison, Sam later landed himself a role on MTV show Geordie Shore.
Within just weeks of entering the house, Sam and fellow Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry got into a relationship and have been loved up ever since. Sam is due to appear on the 16th series of the popular reality show when it returns to MTV in May.
Mike Thalassitis (Muggy Mike)
Former footballer Mike Thalassitis caused quite the drama when he arrived mid-way into Love Island 2017. After trying it on with almost every girl in the villa, Mike was labelled 'Muggy Mike' by viewers for trying to sabotage Dom Lever's relationship with Jess Shears.
After leaving the villa single, Mike was linked to a number of other girls, including Love Island host Caroline Flack, however, this was never confirmed.
Since then, Mike appeared on E4 show Celeb's Go Dating, but failed to find love with the help of Nadia Essex and Eden Blackman. He later got into a relationship with former TOWIE star Megan McKenna, but it now looks like the pair have ended their short romance.
Gabby Allen
Liverpudlian Gabby Allen was accused of 'faking' her feelings for former Blazin' Squad star Marcel Somerville, in an attempt to 'use him' for fame on Love Island 2017.
Despite this, Gabby won over the public throughout the series and seemed to prove everybody wrong. However, new reports now suggest that Gabby has 'dumped' Marcel after he allegedly 'cheated' on her.
Since appearing on Love Island, Gabby has used her fame to launch her own fitness app and release her own clothing line with high street shop Quiz.
Most recently, Gabby has been spotted on a fitness bootcamp trip to Marbella with former TOWIE star Dan Osbourne, Stephanie Davis and Calum Best.
Marcel Somerville
Despite the recent 'cheating' rumours, Marcel has also done alright for himself since gaining more popularity on Love Island 2017.
Not long after leaving the villa, Marcel reunited with a number of his Blazin' Squad crew for some one-off shows, leaving fans feeling very nostalgic.
The rapper also released his own book called 'Dr Marcel's Little Book of Big Love: Your Guide to Finding Love, the Island Way', and has presented on 4 Music's Trending Live.
In recent weeks, a number of rumours have been flying around that Marcel could appear on the 2018 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, although nothing has been confirmed.
Montana Brown
She was loved for her straight talking personality on Love Island 2017 and it didn't take long for Montana Brown to continue her success after the show.
After she announced her split from Love Island boyfriend Alex Beattie just a few weeks after leaving the villa, Montana was signed to become clothing site Pretty Little Thing's brand ambassador.
Montana later landed herself a six-month presenting role on MTV and continues to make money from appearances. She is also now dating model Elliott Reeder.
Alex Beattie
Newcastle lad Alex Beattie was a major hit with viewers when he first entered the villa and swept Montana off her feet. However, despite telling the model that he 'loved her', the pair were the first to end their romance when the show came to an end.
After the split, Alex turned his attention to modelling and has since undergone a hair transplant. Alex is now dating make-up artist Amy, who runs the website Amy's Makeup Box.
Jonny Mitchell
He became the Love Island villain in 2017 when he famously dumped the nation's sweetheart Camilla Thurlow for Tyla Carr, but Jonny Mitchell didn't let that stop him after leaving the villa.
Despite being rumoured to appear on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here last year, Jonny was actually a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in January 2018 and gained a fan following.
Shortly before entering the Big Brother house, Jonny started dating former Made In Chelsea star Stephanie Pratt, however things didn't work out!
He is now dating Danielle Zarb and has recently expressed interest in starting a blog with his fans.
Jess Shears
She made an instant impact on the show when she 'stole' Dom Lever away from Montana Brown in the first week of Love Island 2017, but since then they haven't looked back.
Despite being accused of 'cheating' on Dom with Muggy Mike when they were eliminated together, the pair cleared things up and have since moved in together, announced their engagement and even spoke about children.
After appearing in a number of cringe-worthy promotions and even doing an appearance at kebab shop, Jess is now a successful model and social media influencer.
Dom Lever
Dom Lever was one of the favourites to win Love Island 2017 in the first few days, but after he chose Jess over Montana, viewers questioned him.
Despite this, Dom stuck true to his word and remained faithful to Jess after she was eliminated from the villa without him.
After popping the question to Jess after just three months of knowing her, the pair then married on live TV on Valentine's Day in 2018. Despite the 'wedding' taking place on Good Morning Britain, the couple are said to be planning their 'real wedding' for 2019.
Away from Jess, Dom is also enjoying life as a model post Love Island.
Camilla Thurlow
She was dubbed the 'nation's sweetheart' by Love Island viewers with her sweet and innocent personality, so everybody was left over the moon when she found her 'Prince'.
After being harshly dumped by Jonny Mitchell, Camilla was swept off her feet when underwear model Jamie Jewitt entered the house (who can forget that super romantic La La Land scene?!)
Despite finishing in second place behind Kem and Amber, Camilla and Jamie have remained together and have completed a number of charity missions together in countries abroad.
Camilla also recently appeared on Sport Relief, facing Helen Skelton in a charity boxing match.

Meanwhile, with just a few weeks to go until the brand new series hits our TV screens, Love Island dropped a full trailer earlier this month.
The new 55 second long trailer shows a bunch of actors on a plane as Iain Stirling says, "Please fasten your seat belts for the ride of your life." As pilot Caroline tells the passengers things are going to get "turbulent", the plane turns into a party with a number of classic Love Island phrases being used without.
