The Great British Bake Off star Liam Charles to host new TV show
This is exciting!
Liam Charles rose to fame during the last series of The Great British Bake, and now he has been confirmed to host a new spin-off TV show for Channel 4.
The news was announced on social media by the former Bake Off contestant who said,
'Errrrrr.....How can I say this.....Bake Off professionals init!! 😜🍰 Ayy @tomallencomedy let’s get cracking bro!! @cherish_finden x @BenoitBlin_MCA ' sic
Liam's initial tweet was greeted with messages of congratulations saying, 'Awesome news Liam...well done man!!' and 'Hurrah! Liam will be back on our TV's 😁'.
Liam's tweet was then followed by one from comedian Tom Allen confirming they will both be co-hosting a new series called Bake Off: The Professionals.
The most recent series of The Great British Bake Off was the first to air on Channel 4, after years of being broadcast on the BBC. Bake Off: The Professionals will replace the BBC's spin-off Bake Off: Creme de la Creme, which featured teams of professional pastry chefs.
The new programme will have 12 professional duos going to head-to-head. They will have to make two pastries, and will be judged by an expert panel on their levels of creativity.
Speaking about his new job Liam said, “I’m totally amazed by the skill of professional chefs and to be doing this so soon after Bake Off, is just sick. I can’t wait to get cracking. I told you I’d be back.”
Tom also said he was very excited about co-hosting the new show saying,
“I am over the moon to be joining the Bake Off family and to be working with such a great team including my co-host Liam, the judges and some truly incredible professional patissiers."
Bake Off: The Professionals is a six part series which will be shown on Channel 4 later this year.
