Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe may have been through the ringer over the past couple of years, but it looks as though things aren't slowing down for him any time soon. The cabbie, who was first introduced as the biological father of Faye Windass back in 2013, is now married to Sally Webster, who was wrongfully imprisoned for fraud last year.

Thankfully, she's now out of prison - but things aren't great between the pair, as both of their fidelity has been called into question more than once in recent times.

Now, Coronation Street bosses have confirmed that they're working with the British Heart Foundation on a storyline around Tim's health, with reports saying that Tim will be left fighting for his life.

A Coronation Street spokesperson told Digital Spy that they would be looking at Tim's lifestyle and how this has affected his health, and added, "Our research team and writers have been working with the British Heart Foundation looking at Tim's lifestyle choices and how the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise impact on his health."

Philippa Hobson, Senior Cardiac Nurse at the British Heart Foundation, added, "Every three minutes in the UK, someone is rushed to hospital having had a heart attack. It's great to see Coronation Street raising awareness of this devastating condition, which affects so many people across the country.

"Medical research has helped us make huge strides in saving the lives of people suffering heart attacks, keeping hearts beating and blood flowing. But the disease is far from beaten, and it's still essential for us all to be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack in ourselves and those around us."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
