Ed Sheeran is literally unstoppable right now, his new album '÷' took the top spot for first day streams, he currently holds 12 of the top 20 places on the UK Spotify chart and he's became the first solo male artist to have his singles streamed over 13 million times in 24 hours. Now he's revealed he is creating a boy band!

Yes you read that correct, superstar singer Ed is auditioning members to be in an all new boy band which he hopes to take on his world tour.

Just in case Ed is struggling for members of his new band, Key 103 Breakfast presenters Matt Haslam and Mike Toolan decided to audition on this morning's show.

Giving their best efforts, Matt performed Boyzone's 'Love Me For A Reason', with Mike singing (if you can call it that) 'Viva Forever' by the Spice Girls.

Back to Ed, in a recent interview, the 'Castle On The Hill' singer revealed he's already started writing songs for the 'superpop' group and is in the process of auditioning for members.

Talking to Rolling Stone about his new project, Ed said, "It's really, really decent. Superpop, but obviously credible. I'm gonna put three or four boys together and do all the songs, take them on the stadium tour with me."

How exciting! 🙌

Meanwhile Ed popped in for a chat with our Entertainment Team last week where he performed not one, but two exclusive performances of his tracks 'Castle On The Hill' and 'Shape Of You'.
