Rumours have begun to spread suggesting that the 29 year-old is in the middle of negotiations with X Factor producers to become a judge following Nicole Scherzinger's departure this week.

This, combined with Cheryl Cole's rumoured reappearance, could mark the return of the original X Factor team; Simon Cowell, Olly Murs, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.

Olly was a runner-up on the talent show in 2009 and recently said it would be “an honour” to become a judge.

He added, “It would be incredible but I’d have to wait for Mr Cowell to make that decision.”

Meanwhile, an X Factor source has revealed to The Sun that Simon Cowell intends for Cheryl Cole to become the "complete star of the show" and it is hoped that Cheryl and Olly, who share a special 'chemistry', would allow their relationship to blossom onscreen.

Other potential celebrity judges include Rita Ora and Danni Minogue, who have both been suggested to be in the frame to join Simon on the panel.

So far only Simon is officially confirmed as returning with announcements about the other judges not expected for some weeks yet.

The X Factor begins filming in the summer with the show returning to ITV in the autumn.
