Cian Ducrot opens up about his rise to fame and getting emotional videos from fans
Cian performed at Hits Live Birmingham and Manchester!
The brilliant Cian Ducrot joined us at Hits Live in both Birmingham and Manchester, where he delivered two incredible performances. The 'All For You' hitmaker joined Mike Toolan and Brooke Vincent backstage in Birmingham, where he opened up about his incredible success and the emotional reactions to his 'Victory Tour'.
Despite delivering two nights of flawless vocals, Cian revealed that he had actually woken up on the day of Hits Live Birmingham with a sore throat. He explained: "I woke up, my girlfriend fed me like a hot ginger lemon honey tea and loads of paracetamol. Before I went to bed, I could feel it coming on. The only upside is I don’t feel ill in any other way, I’m hoping that it won’t become like a blocked nose, achy body. But I’m good for now."
2023 has been an amazing year for Cian, with his debut album 'Victory' reaching Number 1 on the charts. Cian revealed that he'd planned a holiday ahead of finding out the album's chart position - which turned out to be an incredible celebration!
He said: "It kind of felt like when the album went to Number 1, I was like, 'Thank God!' Because I called it 'Victory', even the tour is called the 'Victory Tour!' I had a little holiday that I was going to go on after finding out if it was going to be a Number 1 album.
"And I was like, this is either going to be the saddest, most depressing holiday of my life, or the greatest holiday of my life. Luckily, it was the greatest holiday of my life! It’s been mad, you know. It’s super strange when you kind of are just not there and then you’re there."
Explaining that getting used to being recognised in public has been an adjustment for him, Cian added: "It also, I think, gets more and more and becomes more and more intense, without you realising that it does. Sometimes you think like, that’s everyone surely, surely I’ve met everyone who knows who I am now. Like I can go out now and it’ll be totally fine."
Cian has just finished his 'Victory Tour', having concluded the shows in Manchester on Wednesday (29th November). The 26-year-old explained that many fans have been emotional whilst watching him perform, with Cian having been sent videos of men crying in the audience.
He said: "It is super special just that anyone connects to it anyway, but especially grown men, because I think it’s just something that is a bit rarer and stuff. I get sent beautiful videos, somebody sent me a video, she took her father to the London show as a Father's Day present.
"It was just a video of her filming him, and he was so happy, like singing along every word. And he turned and he was smiling and I was like, 'Aww!'"
