Reading & Leeds Festival have surprised fans by adding a tropical fruit to their list of banned items. The change came to light when festival organisers released the updated list for the festival which takes place in just under two weeks.

This year pineapples will be banned from both the festival arenas and the camping sites, after organisers expressed concerned that fans of the band Glass Animals might turn up with a lot of the popular tropical fruit!
The Oxford-based band has a reputation for bringing pineapples to its gigs after the tropical fruit has featured heavily in their sets at Glastonbury, Longitude Festival in Dublin and Coachella in California. They even brought pineapples to their performance on the Late Late Show with James Corden.
Speaking to the BBC a spokesman for the festivals said, "Organisers were a little concerned about hundreds of pineapples turning up on site, so decided to ask fans not to bring them along."
Continuing, "The tongue may be slightly in cheek on this one."
However, earlier this week there were reports of security confiscating pineapples from festival-goers at Lollapalooza in Chicago, where Glass Animals were due to perform.
On hearing the news many fans of the band have responded on Twitter such as Jenny who said, 'reinforcements are on their way, boys!', whilst others have responded by saying they will be dressing up as a pineapple.
Reading & Leeds Festival take place between the 25th and 27th August. This year the dual location festival will include performances from Bastille, Major Lazer, Charlie XCX and FatBoy Slim.
