Making reference to his deceased best friend Paul Walker, whose final film was Furious 7, Vin added: “I swear to you and I swear to my brother (Paul) upstairs we're going to make the best movie you've ever seen.”

Universal Pictures will be hoping to match the success of Fast & Furious 7, which, just three weeks after release, is already the seventh highest grossing film of all time with box office takings of $1.158billion (ÂŁ770million).

Only Avatar, Titanic, The Avengers, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Frozen and Iron Man 3 have made more money in cinemas.
