Taylor Swift fan has wish granted to meet singer before losing her hearing
A campaign was launched to get 12-year-old Jorja to meet Taylor
An Australian fan suffering from progressive hearing loss has achieved her wish of meeting her idol Taylor Swift following an online campaign.
12-year-old Jorja Hope from Maitland, New South Wales has a condition which causes degenerative inner-ear hearing loss and has been told by doctors she will one-day go completely deaf.
Upon diagnosis, Jorja said that her first thought was that “I won’t be able to hear Taylor Swift sing.”
Her twin sister Chloe decided to launch a campaign for Jorja to meet Taylor with the hashtag #HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSydney going viral on social media.
With the help of local radio station Nova 96.9, Jorja’s wish came true at the 76,000 capacity ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Saturday night.
Jorja, who bought Taylor some UGG Boots as a gift, said of her idol: "She was very, very amazing and very pretty. I didn't expect her to be as tall as she was."
She said of the gig: “It was very, very fun. We danced all night.”
Taylor continues her Australian tour in Brisbane on Saturday night (5th December).
