Taylor Swift donates $50,000 to superfan battling Leukemia
The singer donated after watching heartfelt video.
Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 (£32,000) to Naomi Oakes' GoFundMe page after watching a video about her battle with Leukemia and her use of Taylor's single 'Bad Blood' as her 'fight song'.
In a video recently uploaded to YouTube, Naomi's family shares the Taylor Swift superfan's story of dealing with her diagnosis and enduring six months of hospital treatment for the aggressive cancer.
Using 'Bad Blood' as her 'fight song' to get her through the treatment, Naomi's biggest disappointment was not being able to see Taylor live in concert due to her condition.
This prompted the family to try and get in touch with Taylor to ask if the singer could help out and perhaps share a #TeamNaomi post on Instagram.
The ever-generous Swift responded with several donations to the Team Naomi GoFundMe page totalling $50,000 and a personal message for Naomi:
“To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I’m sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let’s focus on getting you feeling better. I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family.”
After receiving the message and donations, the family were moved to make a thank you video for the singer and film Naomi's response for seeing the message from Taylor for the first time...
