It's not every day that you have a popstar coming into your shop, but for Emely Medina that's exactly what happened, and it got even better for the New Yorker when New Zealand singer Lorde had a surprise for her.
It was just a normal day at work for Emely, until Lorde appeared the other side of the counter. Posting a short video on Twitter Emely said, "first smoothie to a famous person"!
While she was making the drink the pair got chatting and shared Twitter details.
Later that day Lorde DMed the unsuspecting server and invited her to the festival saying, 'I was going to ask u in the store if u wanted to come but i got shy! To celebrate ur new job :-)' sic
Unable to believe what she was seeing, Emely immediately accepted Lorde's offer and later tweeted her amazement saying, 'Woke up trying to figure out if last night was a dream or real life...'
The news is finally beginning to sink in for the server as someone asked if she was going she replied 'Absolutely!'
Since the excitement yesterday Emely has tweeted again saying, 'Guess I should go get my glasses bc @lorde is actually taking me to @GovBallNYC !!! ðŸ˜ðŸ’•'
Emely will get to see Lorde perform on Friday night before headliner Chance The Rapper.
