Sam Smith has reportedly split from his boyfriend of nine months, 13 Reasons Why actor, Brandon Flynn. The news comes as the singer reportedly posted a number of images on Instagram which have now been deleted.
A source close to the singer said, “Sam and Brandon had a real whirlwind romance. They really fell for each other. But they are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately things just haven’t worked out. Sam is obviously devastated. This is the most significant relationship he has ever had.”
At the time, Brandon, who plays Justin Foley in the hit Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, strongly hinted that he counts himself as part of the LGBT community. Taking to Instagram he posted a rainbow flag with the words 'Equality' printed on it and Sam commented on his photo with a simple 'x'.
And this was not the only time the pair had exchanged messages publicly on social media. Brandon also commented on a photo of Sam in a dressing gown saying, 'You need slippers', to which Sam responded, 'I'm open to slippers'.
Earlier this year Sam also spoke publicly about how happy he was saying, “I’m in a relationship right now and for the first time, I think I deserve to be happy."
And just last month Brandon posted a photo of Sam to his Instagram page saying, 'He’s in a different time zone and it’s hit his birthday! Just finishing his European leg of his tour, at 26 he’s accomplished so much.'

At present neither Sam or Brandon have publicly spoken about, or confirmed their split, however their fans have begun to take to Twitter to express how upset they are at the reported news. One fan said, 'Gutted that it seems like Sam Smith and Brandon Flynn have broken up 😞'.
Other fans said they didn't believe in love anymore.
