Robbie Coltrane rushed to hospital after flight

The Harry Potter actor is currently hospitalised

Harry Potter star Robbie Coltrane has been admitted to hospital in Florida after contracting severe flu-like symptoms during a flight.

Paramedics escorted him off the flight from London and rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors are keeping the Scottish actor overnight.

Coltrane was on his way to Orlando to attend a Harry Potter convention when the incident happened. He played half-giant Rubeus Hagrid in the film series.

His co-star Michael Gambon, who played headmaster Albus Dumbledore, was on the same flight according to reports.

Coltrane, originally Anthony Robert McMillan, has appeared in a number of popular films and TV shows.

He was involved in all seven Harry Potter films and has also played roles in James Bond movies ‘GoldenEye’ and ‘The World Is Not Enough’.
