Patrick Dempsey appears to have confirmed that he will appear in the third installment of the Bridget Jones Diary franchise by sharing a photo on social media.

Rumours have been circulating that the Grey's Anatomy star would be a part of Bridget Jones' Baby, the highly-anticipated follow up to the 2004 film, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

The actor captioned a photograph of himself posing with an umbrella, "Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with!"

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)0; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); > Nice to be working in England. Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth are set to return but not Hugh Grant, who played a rival love interest in the first two films.

Instead of following the latest Helen Fielding book where Firth's character Mark isn't featured much (we'll not give away the big spoiler), instead this film is based on the column.

There has been no indication what role Dempsey will play in the film but production is reportedly set to begin in October 2015.
